Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.
I feel compelled to share the tools I use to build software, stay productive, or at least try. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.
Productivity
Fig.io
I am a early user of this incredile software that started as a cli autocomplete tool, but now its functionality extends to dotfiles, scripts and servers. I am a contributor of its autocomplete open source project with +23K stars on Github.
Raycast
Raycast, as it says, is simply supercharged productivity. It is a fast launcher with useful core features built-in such as windows management, quicklinks, global calculator, clipboard history, etc, but you can add more in the Extensions store or create your own one.
Notion
This is an easy-to-use and advanced workspace at the same time. From managing your projects to expenses, this tool helps you track whatever you want. Worth a try!
Development tools
Visual Studio Code
The most complete and rich-featured IDE is the market by far. Also, very customizable thanks to the extensions store.
iTerm2
My go-to terminal replacement each time I get a new laptop. User profiles, theme customizable, copy-on-select mode, and much more.
Postman
Great software for working with databases. Has saved me from building about a thousand admin interfaces for my various projects over the years.
Workstation
13” MacBook Pro, Intel i5, 16GB RAM (2020)
Currently, I’m using an Intel-based laptop, but I’m planning to move to a M2-chip model, so I’ll use that extra boost on performance on my new projects.
34” Curved Monitor Full HD (USB Type-C)
There is definitely a before and after having used an extra ultrawide monitor. The productivity of having the code and the browser with the app I’m working on in the same screen is wonderful.
MX Master 3 and MX Keys (Logitech)
This is a perfect combination of mouse + keyboard, both wireless devices that can connect up to 3 devices with ease and, best of all, the design is so aesthetic.
